CR-Z

The kids at the Temple of VTEC have managed to lay their high-revving paws on a gold mine of information on the new Honda CR-Z – the car’s brochure. From the creased images, we can tell the road-going version is going to look nearly identical to the multitude of concepts we’ve seen parade around the auto show circuit over the last year. Honda’s managed to keep the car’s dimensions exactly the same too – the CR-Z sits at 68.5” wide and 95.9” long and just 54.9” tall. What’s under the hood?

According to the brochure, the car will benefit from a 112 horsepower 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a 14 hp electric motor, good for a combined output of 126 hp and 164 lb-ft of torque. Of course, that’s in JDM dress. It’s always possible the U.S.-bound version may have a little extra grunt. Transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox as well as a CVT. Evidently the car will have three driver-selectable driving modes – normal, eco and sport, and will use LED daytime running lights and turning indicators. No word on a final mpg estimate or how much the thing weighs.
